• GENERAL : 
  • To be fitted to a Cat 776 or similar prime mover.
  • Manufactured by Drake Trailers Wacol, Brisbane.
• GENERAL ARRANGEMENT : 
  • The lowloader will be designed to couple directly to the Cat 776 or similar prime mover for the safe transportation of blast drills, dozers, front end loaders, drag line buckets and large hydraulic shovels.
  • Loading is by rear beaver tail design, which has a 20 degree load angle and incorporates push pads for exiting of the pit.
  • The suspension will comprise, trunnion axles mounted to dual single point beams, bolted to the frame. The axles will be mounted in a 4 rows of 8 configuration.
  • All suspension bushes will be long life nickel bronze. The suspension will provide for extreme axle movement giving full load sharing on each axle, and greater strength and reliability than a sprung suspension.
• DIMENSIONS : 
  • The standard deck will be 14m x 6m wide, deck height will be 1.6m, ground clearance will be 700mm, these dimensions can be modified to suit your requirements.
• FRAME : 
  • The lowloader frame will have a front deck of 75mm hardwood flooring and steel plate fitted with 25mm square cleats at 600mm spacing over the axles.
  • Lifting lugs will be fitted at each corner of the deck and tie down points will be fitted along each side - seven per side.
  • Inside tyres are removed between the two frame sections and split beaver tail.
• LANDING LEGS : 
  • Heavy duty RHS drop down landing legs will be fitted to the front of the deck, hand and foot hold will be fitted to this area for access to the deck area and gooseneck.
• GOOSENECK : 
  • The gooseneck will be built to suit the standard Cat 776 hitch, but no hitch components supplied.
• TYRES : 
  • The tyres will be Bridgestone 14.00R x 24, 3 star, VBH fitted to Topy 10.00 x 24 WI three piece rims. Speed rated at 20kph for 250t.
• GREASE POINTS : 
  • All grease points for suspension, brakes and hitch to run to nipple banks on Left and Right sides of trailer, in front of wheels and on front of trailer for hitch points.
  • All grease hoses are mounted in Stauff clamps.
• BRAKES : 
  • Spicer Dana full air brakes are fitted to each axle. The brakes are 510mm x 200mm 'S' cam type fitted with non-asbestos linings. Brake chambers are MGM L-T 3636 maxi brakes.
  • Air reservoir capacity is sufficient to allow six (6) brake applications without the spring brakes applying.
  • Air hoses, form hitch to tanks and valves, to be ADR approved air hoses, delivery to chambers will be rubber.
  • Air hoses will terminate at hitch with bulkhead fittings in a plate behind the hitch.
  • All hoses will be mounted in Stauff clamps.
• ELECTRICAL : 
  • Clearance lamps are to be Hella 2010 mounted three (3) on each side. The front light to mark the forward extremity of the deck.
  • Work lights are to be 'Wabco AK 1301' mounted on each side of the gooseneck.
  • Turn indicators to be 'Wabco AK 1304' mounted one of each side of the gooseneck and 'Hella 2396' stop/tail flashers, one on each side of the rear of the deck on fold away mountings.
  • Tail/stop lights to be 'Wabco AK 0234' one on each side of the gooseneck to be a minimum of 1m outside gooseneck.
  • Each light to have an individual wire. All wiring to be run in flexible conduit.
  • Wiring harness to be mounted in Stauff clamps. Wiring harness tail of 3m to be left at the hitch.
• PAINT : 
  • Paint - Class 2 blast. First coat will be Taubmans Chromax QD. Second coat will be Taubmans Interfine 629.
• SERVICE LITERATURE : 
  • Three (3) sets parts/service manuals will include full spare parts listing, electrical schematic, air system and load/speed charts.
